Twin brothers William and Edward Johnston are the driving force behind Johnston Construction Company. Since its founding in 2021, the two have worked side by side to build the business into what it is today. Over the years, their roles have evolved, but one thing has never changed: their commitment to delivering quality work and building lasting relationships with their partners.
Johnston Construction is proud to self-perform the majority of its services, specializing in land clearing, grading, excavation, utilities, and mining.
Edward Johnston oversees land clearing and mass grading operations, staying directly involved in the day-to-day fieldwork. His hands-on approach reflects his passion for heavy equipment and his belief in getting the job done safely, efficiently, and with the highest standards of quality.
William Johnston recently stepped into a new role leading the company’s mining operations. Under his direction, Johnston Construction provides high-quality construction materials to clients across the Lowcountry of South Carolina.
Growing up side by side, William and Edward Johnston shared many of the same passions—especially a love for hard work and the outdoors. That same drive carried into their business, where their shared passion for earthwork became the foundation of Johnston Construction. Built on a lifetime of working together, their partnership continues to shape the company’s success today.
When asked about his favorite part of the business, Edward says: “I love the equipment, and I love getting involved in the work itself. Being part of the process—seeing the dirt move, the job take shape, and the project completed the right way—is what drives me every day.”
William shares a different perspective: “The company has grown so much over the years, and I love seeing that progress. But for me, it’s the relationships we build daily—with our clients, our partners, and our team—that fuels my passion for this business.”
